The draw for the quarter finals of the EFL Cup has been made, with Liverpool hosting Leeds United in the tie of the round.

The round of 16 came to an end last evening, with wins for Arsenal, Hull City, Leeds United, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Southampton and West Ham United this week.

Last season's winners Manchester City are out after a defeat away at fierce rivals Manchester United, meaning a fresh name will be on the trophy this time around.

The team that City beat in the final last year, Liverpool, have been pitted against Championship side Leeds United in the tie of the round, after the Whites beat Norwich in a dramatic penalty shoot-out win.

Manchester United, who beat City 1-0 this evening, are handed a home tie against Premier League rivals West Ham United, who halted Chelsea's winning run with a 2-1 home win over the Blues this evening.

Hull City beat Bristol City 2-1 on Tuesday to make it to the last eight, and their reward is another clash with a Championship club, as they take on Newcastle United at the KCOM Stadium after the Magpies hammered Preston North End 6-0.

The other all Premier League clash sees Arsenal take on Southampton at the Emirates Stadium, with a place in the semi-finals up for grabs when French managers Arsene Wenger and Claude Puel lock horns.
