Air Mauritius reports Rs 200 million quarterly loss
Air Mauritius reported on Tuesday a Rs 200 million loss for the three months through June, although it maintained its full-year targets.
It blamed higher fuel prices for the loss, which reversed a Rs 80 million pretax profit in the same period of last year.
The Indian Ocean island's national carrier said its passenger numbers rose 11.6 percent in April-June from a year earlier but operating expenses also increased, by about 10 percent.
Volatility in the euro and fuel prices will continue to weigh on its results, the company said, but added it remains on track to achieve performance targets for the financial year 2017/18.
Revenues for the three months to June 30 hit Rs 4.54 billion, up from Rs 4.29 billion a year earlier.
